We have many things going on in our community, for the very
young and old and inbetween, some regular weekly clubs, and
other one-off events. Come along, be involved, and meet others
in your community. |


A group for carers/mums/dads and babies aged 0 to 12months.
Now meets every Thursday afternoon 1.30pm to 3.15pm,

An opportunity for pre-school aged children to enjoy
a variety of activities while mums, dads, grandparents
or carers have the chance to chat and enjoy a cup of

Come And Meet Each Other, a chance to listen to speakers
and talk to each other over a cup of tea, and alternate
weeks play games, including carpet bowls and table top

Meets second Thursday of the month, in the evening and
provides educational and recreational activities for

Now in their seventh year of using The Wesley Centre
for rehearsals for their annual November production
at The Lawrence Batley Theatre. Check back for details

6 week sessions for the National Childbirth Trust. Each
session typically consists of 5 evenings and a Saturday
morning and is attended by both mums-to-be and dads-to-be.

Fancy a walk? Every week throughout the summer, we meet
outside The Wesley Centre, and then head off around

During the year we may have one or more concerts in
The Wesley Centre, or in Church. Previous concerts held
have included, Clifton Lightcliffe Brass Band, Huddersfield
Junior Choral Society, Stannington Brass Band and others.

The Almondbury Youth Action Project was setup in 2002, with the main purpose of coordinating work with young people in the community.[more...] |

We now have a second luncheon club 'The Monday Luncheon
Club' which meets every Monday.

The Extended Learning Service used The Wesley Centre
on six mornings in August last year. Children from years
5, 6 and 7 at Almondbury Schools were invited to join
them for breakfast and lots of activities, crafts and

In 2007, Trisha Brown from the Communities United project
ran a dance and drama group on Thursday afternoons for
girls aged 8 to 14 years. The end product was a short

In 2005, Almondbury Methodist Church and staged a unique
first time exhibiton which presented a perspective on
community life. This included 'The Clay', Stories from 'The Forgiveness Project' and photos
of community life in Almondbury [more...] |

Almondbury Methodist Church support a number of charities
locally, nationally, and internationally. Some of our
members are also involved in other charitable work.
