Almondbury TOTS (Time Out Tinies)

This Thursday afternoon group has now been running successfully since January 2006. Mums and Dads along with other carers including nannies, au pairs, and grandparents bring along pre-school aged children for a wide variety of structured activities.

There is a designated baby area with soft mats and toys for those youngsters who are not yet walking, a role play area for imaginative play, an area with bikes, slides, tunnels for more physical play, a craft area, and a book corner. Due to careful resourcing it is possible to provide a change of activity from week to week to keep children interested and excited. Each week there is a fun singing time with action songs and a noisy musical instrument session.

The group values those volunteers who are on the 'Welcome & Tea & Coffee' rota. They welcome newcomers as they arrive and provide them with information about the group then make a much appreciated snack for the children and an even more appreciated hot drink for the parents and carers.

There are currently around 30 names on the register with about 20 attending each week, showing what a popular and needed facility The Wesley Centre provides.

Some comments from those who use the group:
